On June 1, 6:00 pm, we will join other Churches of Christ at Trenton Christian Church for a Vespers service geared toward teens and young adults. But, everyone is welcome to participate.

What is Vespers?
Vespers is an English term for a church service in the evening. In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul tells us the purpose of our ministry is to equip the saints for their ministry. This is something we prayerfully work towards during Vespers.

As we enter Vespers we are given a self-guided devotion to follow while the worship band plays a meditative melody.  Some do the devotion individually, others in groups, and a few turn their paper into an airplane.  The purpose is to give us a taste of reading a Bible passage, reflecting on how it applies to our lives, and praying on it – in an encouraging, safe environment where we can see and follow the example of a large number of our peers and leaders.  It is encouraging to see young saints contemplating Scripture and praying . . . the airplanes have not been so encouraging.  After the devotion, we worship together with music and have a message, delivered this time by Ken Reed.  Come, and bring a friend, as well.
